Forum Policy
The Fly Software Forum offers a place for constructive discussions among users of our software, services and solutions. The forums are actively moderated, but threads and replies are NOT screened before they are posted.
Only visitors with a Fly Software user account can create threads and replies in the Forum.
The following policy is intended to help foster professional, helpful community interaction. Forum participants are required to abide by these rules of etiquette. In general, they call for participants to treat each other with respect in all discussions. Adherence to the guidelines will ideally be self-regulated by and among participants; the forum moderator will intervene only if and when required.
If circumstances warrant, Fly Software reserves the right to enforce compliance with stated forum policies. At the forum moderator's discretion, behavior deemed inconsistent with and in violation of these guidelines may lead to punitive actions. In the case of serious or chronic violations, this may include revoking your Fly Software user account.
The most important principles are summarized below:

Show Respect
The Forum is designed to encourage widespread interaction among a worldwide community, made up of users with different levels of expertise. Don't belittle people for asking simple questions. It discourages and intimidates new members from participating, and diminishes the value of the forums for all.

No SPAM
A firm No-SPAM policy is in effect and is strictly enforced by the moderator. Violators will be banned from the Forum.

No Flames or Personal Attacks
Each participant is accountable for his or her own threads and replies. Please take care in how you express your comments. Also, remember your intended tone of voice can easily be lost in written communication; if you want something to be understood in a certain way (humor, sarcasm, etc), it may help to provide an obvious indicator of tone to avoid misinterpretation. Failure to grasp the sender's tone is a common cause of angry replies, or "flames." Please keep "flames" off the Forum.

No Advertising
Do not post blatantly commercial threads or replies. If someone poses a query for which you believe you can offer ("sell") a product or service, please send your detailed reply privately to the original sender rather than post it in the Forum.
Posting a brief mention of a product or service that is in direct response to a legitimate request from another participant is acceptable, but it should refer the person to the source for more information.
Pricing information for products and services must never appear.

Be Concise
In general, keep your threads and replies concise. (Shorter messages are also more likely to be read.) When lengthy threads and replies seem appropriate, be sure to break up the paragraphs for easy reading.

Add Value
Only post a reply if and when you have something constructive to share. Don't merely add a "Me too!" note.

Detail
Provide sufficient detail in a thread so others won’t need to request information before they attempt to offer help in a reply.

Use Meaningful Subjects
When creating a thread, use a meaningful Subject. Many people decide whether they want to read a thread based on the the Subject. Don't say 'Help me,' but instead indicate the specific type of problem for which you're seeking help.
NOTE: Unlike the content of a thread, a Subject cannot be updated after the thread is posted.

Check Resources First
Don't ask questions for which the answers are readily available in within other resources such as the Knowledge Base, existing Forum threads and replies, and the Help and user guide of each of our software products.
Don't expect others to do your research. Ask questions when you truly are stuck on a problem and can't figure out what is wrong, and want input from other users.

Topic Selection
There are numerous Forum topics. Select the most relevant one for your thread. Do NOT create multiple threads that are the same but with different topics, as duplicates will be deleted.

Respect Copyright
Do not post copyrighted information in the Forum. Posting the full text of a newspaper or magazine article, for example, is not acceptable and is a violation of the publication's copyright. It is acceptable to post brief "fair use" excerpts of such articles, along with a link.

Contacting a Moderator
Do not post questions about forum management and use in the forums. Contact the forum moderator by posting a support ticket (requires a user account).
